Planned power plant refueling and maintenance outages involve thousands of tasks requiring hundreds of both permanent and temporary contracted personal. These are massive undertakings, which used to unfold over months, but often now are done within three weeks. The challenge is to pre-plan, disconnect and reconnect quickly while also capturing every single line-item work order. Skilled craftsmen and utilities work together intently for years at a time to make these multi-week outages as successful as possible.
